TechNet International 2010
All,
I want to make sure you all see the announcement and advance program for TechNet International 2010 with activities 26-29 October 2010 in London. AFCEA has 39 chapters and sub-chapters in Europe, with representation in every one of the NATO nations. We have a strong and growing level of involvement with and support to NATO.
This year's TechNet International program, focused on Cyber Warfare in the NATO environment, is the strongest I can
remember. Most of the significant NATO players in C4I and Cyber are participating as speakers or panelists. This is an opportunity to interface with AFCEA members from all over Europe. For those of you interested in what AFCEA is doing in Europe and NATO (15 percent of our total membership), or for those of you interested in business with Europe and/or NATO, this will be an excellent forum. I encourage you to look at the program and strongly consider adding this event to your schedule.
I seldom emphasize specific events, but this is a tremendous program in a region of the world critical to all of us and to which we seldom give enough attention.
Best regards,
Kent

Condolences
On 10 April 2010 on the way to commemoration ceremony of the 70 th anniversary of the Katyn massacre the President of the Republic of Poland Mr Lech Kaczynski, the First Lady Mrs Maria Kaczynska, members of the Polish delegation and crew lost their lives.
Greetings Witold, Marek, Piotr and members of AFCEA Polish Chapter,
We here at AFCEA and in the U.S. share in mourning
the loss of your leaders and countrymen.
You must have known and worked with many of them.
In this day of wars and natural disasters all over the world,
this tragedy was still a great shock. I am sad for the
families and for those who must now continue with their
loved ones gone forever.
Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers these days.
Very respectfully,
Norma Corrales

Dear Marek,
Dear Witold,
The AFCEA family share your grief at the loss of your President and senior members of your government, especially the Chief of Defence Staff. I am sure that many of those who died will be known to you personally which can only sharpen the sense of shock that accompanies the suddenness of such a tragedy. Please know that we are thinking of you and offering prayers of comfort for the bereaved as well as for the Chapter members who have been affected by this dreadful accident. The effects will be felt throughout the land but we are sure that a nation as strong as yours will overcome the sense of desolation that you must all be feeling at present.
Meanwhile please accept our most heartfelt condolences and I would ask that you forward this note to those who may wish to know that their loss is felt equally among the AFCEA community.
Yours sincerely,
Robert
[Commodore Robert Howell, RN (rtd.)
